The workshop is in conjunction with 1st International ICST Conference on Green Intelligent Future Transport Systems-GIFTS2011, 18-20 March 2011, Athens, Greece

 

 

 

 

Abstract

The purpose of the workshop is to bring attendees up-to-date with examples of successful interregional and inter-sectoral partnerships and EU funding opportunities supporting cooperation and innovation in the automotive sector in South-East Europe.The program will include presentations showing important technical, economic and social advantages of using new technologies transfer of knowledge and good practices from European projects to industry and from one region to another. This international workshop should be of interest to those associated with the automotive industry, design and materials engineers, industry and private practice, engineering faculty and students, researchers and EU and regional policy makers. The program will cover EU-funded projects achievements, clustering case histories from EU countries, as well as the latest initiatives in boosting the innovation in Europe.

- Low Carbon economy: Automotive industry aspect

- Innovation as a key competitiveness factor

- Investment in employees' skill enhancement

- Continuing improvements in productivity

- Effective change management

Targeted communities of interests

Researchers, engineers, students, industrial partners, government delegates and all relevant stakeholders are invited to discuss and exchange ideas about the future and viability of the transportation and automotive industry domain.

Submission

The workshop organizer will control the submission and review process of the workshop papers separately from the main conference.

We encourage authors to submit a paper discussing experience or research in International Cooperation in the Automotive Industry in Europe.

Papers submitted to the workshop should contain original contributions that address the workshop's topics of interest.

A workshop paper proposal submission should include the following items:

  1. Motivation and rationale for the workshop paper.
  2. Names, affiliations, and contact information of main speakers / presenters.
  3. Target audience/participants and expected attendance.
  4. Expected outcome form the presentation.

Publications

Workshop papers will be published in the GIFTS 2011 proceedings and will be available through Springer LNICST.
